Oct 13, 2017 - Affiliate Links This spring season has brought us a wide selection of new lipgloss formulas and colors. Many lines are expanding their color options or developing new-improved formulas through mini-extension releases. The Revelation de Chanel collection focuses mainly on Glossimers ($29.50 each, Nordstrom.com) with some new colors mixed in with some repromotes. I purchased mine almost a month ago and have been using Rose Sauvage non-stop. The shades I bought: Ocean Shimmer 171 is a clear gloss with delicate tiny sparkles suspended Seashell 87 (repurchase) is a pale shimmery champagne pink Rose Sauvage 172 is a soft rose pink shimmer Daydream 174 is a rosey pink with metallic fuschia sparkle particles The colors are typical of Chanel glossimers: naturally gorgeous, delicate with high shine. Daydream’s shimmer is borderline glittery but the color blends out evenly and smoothly on the lips. Those who love Chanel Glossimers will love Rose Sauvage and Daydream. Seashell is a good natural staple I think is universally flattering on all skintones. Ocean Shimmer is definitely a pass for those who have clear gloss in their makeup wardrobe (I still caved). Swatches: I managed to get in lip swatches of Rose Sauvage and Daydream: […]

Dec 27, 2013 - The Chanel spring collection has two new glossimers in Sonate #178, a bright sheer red pink and Murmure #179, a lighter soft pink ($29.50 each). The two new spring shades seem like familiar colors with similarities to other previously released glossimers, but I really like both shades. They have a slightly richer pigment compared to other shades giving a healthy fresh glow. Sonate #178 is a sheer muted red pink. It gives the lips a healthy tint of red mixed with pink and brightens the whole face. The color is layerable for more coverage but is still semi-transparent. Murmure #179 is a light milky pink. It has a slight hint of warmth to prevent it from looking too bubblegum-like. I thought this would be a repeat of Sirop (discontinued), however Murmure is pinker and slightly darker. Comparisons to Dior Diablotine (review here), Tom Ford Peach Absolut (swatched here), Burberry Mallow Pink (swatched here), Chanel Sirop (discontinued), Chanel Volupte, Chanel Calypso (discontinued) and Chanel Nakkar (discontinued, reviewed here). I give both a huge thumbs up. Chanel spring is out on counters now. I purchased the spring collection items from Nordstrom and Neiman Marcus. Affiliate Links

Aug 20, 2015 - My current favorite lipsticks are all from Chanel and I’ve been enamored with the new Rouge Cocos, particularly the lighter more natural shades Perle, Secret & Cashmere. Compared to the Aqualumiere and Rouge Allures, the Rouge Coco has a different texture. I can’t say that one is better than another, they are all simply different. Aqualumieres are the glossiest, Rouge Allures are the creamiest and smoothest, Rouge Cocos seem to be a combination of Hydrabase + RA + Aqualumiere mixed together (in my opinion). I’ve scattered features on the lipsticks I picked out over the past few months. I thought it was time to try a few swatches of these three, note that they all do look very similar: Perle 02 is a nautral pink with a pearly-champagne shimmer Secret 03 is a nude beige-peach cream (without shimmer) Cashmere 04 is similar to Secret, but a peachier version with slight shimmer My lip swatches are all just the lipstick, but I added a few lipliner swatches of colors I thought would match well with these (see below). What I love about the Rouge Cocos is that they really are a nice “swipe & go” lipstick. The formula is sufficient to […]

Bobbi Brown Crushed Liquid Lip Balm Review Swatches, The Beauty Look Book
When everybody else seems to be flaunting tinted lip balms and novel new lip pigments, Chanel has chosen instead to release a whole new class of lip glosses. The Lèvres Scintillantes Glossimer is a classic in the Chanel makeup repertoire, and one that long-time fans (myself included) have relied on time and time again. It was quite a shock to many of us to see that the entire range has been discontinued, and it is interesting to see how much better the new Chanel Rouge Coco Gloss can get! Chanel Rouge Coco Gloss is formulated with skin-loving ingredients to make your lips healthier and smoother with continued use. Natural jojoba, sunflower and mimosa waxes, and coconut extract help to keep the lips moisturized and shiny. Volumnizing Peptides and Vitamin E plump up the lips and keep lines and wrinkles away. In addition to the lip-loving formula, the new Chanel Rouge Coco Glosses also pack more pigment within. Whilst not as opaque as the Rouge Allure Glosses [reviewed here], the colors are noticeably more intense than the previous Lèvres Scintillantes Glossimer. The finish is also more gel-like, using film-formers and translucent glass beads to give a glossy shine rather than shimmers… there are still some of my beloved shimmery […]
New Chanel Rouge Coco Gloss
Jul 3, 2016 - There’s a new lipstick formula from Chanel called the Rouge Coco Stylo ($37 each for 2 g/0.07 oz) which comes in a slim twist-up tube that’s described as having “the intensity of a lipstick, the shine of a lipgloss and comfort of a lip balm.” It truly is a three-in-one kind of lipstick. These have medium to full pigment – coverage is a lot better than the Rouge Coco Shines and just as much pigment as the Rouge Coco Lipsticks. Out of all the Chanel lipstick formulas I’ve tried the new Rouge Coco Stylos are definitely the most creamy in texture and most hydrating in feel. There is a soft floral scent to these similar to the Rouge Coco lipsticks. The formula is quite amazing and all the colors are knock out beautiful. There’s a tiny bit of shimmer in the tubes, but on the lips it’s very subtle. You mostly see color and shine. There are neutral and bright colors in the mix, there are eight shades total: Conte 202 is a baby pink with golden shimmer Article 204 is a bright warm tangerine with a vibrant finish Histoire 206 is a bright coral shade, on me it pulls […]
