The 2023 Met Gala was always going to be an interesting one. With the theme centring around Karl Lagerfeld, there was ample opportunity to embrace a little vintage red-carpet fashion, something which has been a growing trend at the Met Gala, and on the red carpet more generally, in recent years. A number of the famous guests chose to wear creations by the man himself, looking into the archives of Chanel, Chloé and Karl Lagerfeld to find their Met Gala looks, while a number of stars chose to have dresses recreated based on iconic catwalk moments from his time at these fashion houses.
